Story

Story: You're a cop in search of a missing boy. His name is George and he is 10 years old. He's been missing for one week, and you was the only police officer who went looking for George. You begins his search for the city, but without success. You and your coworker, Trevor. Go to the place where it all started... WoodsVille.

Objective

🇺🇲: You need to find the necessary items to escape and continue your search for George. After finding him, you will be tasked with discovering the reason behind George's disappearance and all the other disappearances that are happening.

Menu/Lobby

Custom Save and Reset Buttons

In the chapter room in the menu, three buttons called: "Save Custom Save", "Load Custom Save" and "Reset". The 'Save Custom Save' button will save the progress in the last chapter the player has unlocked; The 'Load Custom Save' button will load the last save of the player; The 'Reset' button will restart the player's progress, returning to the first chapter.

Settings (In the Map)

In the settings room, there are several options that the player can enable or disable that will influence gameplay. Currently, there are only 4 options: Screams, Camera Shake, Flashlight 2.0 (BETA), and Skip Cutscenes (Start). The 'Screams' option determines whether a monster will scream at the start of a chase; the 'Camera Shake' option determines whether the player's camera will shake during a chase; the 'Flashlight 2.0 (BETA)' option will change the player's flashlight lighting system, making it more dynamic and adding an effect/texture to the screen. However, this option is still in BETA and will undergo improvements; the 'Skip Cutscenes (Start)' option determines whether the initial cutscenes will be displayed after starting a chapter.

Achievements (In the Map)

The Woods has its own achievements, showing the player for making such merit inside the map. There are two types of achievements: silver and golden. The silver achievement is given to the player after completing a certain chapter, they are called "Escape Achievements"; The golden achievement is given to the player after discovering or finding some specific secret within the chapters, they are called "Exploration Achievements".

Gameplay

Flashlight, an essential item

The flashlight is an essential item during gameplay. It will be in the player's inventory until the end, being an indispensable companion. It will help the player to see better with the light, in addition to being the player's only portable light source. However, it is important to emphasize that it must be used responsibly, which can cause problems due to light. So know how to use it at the right times!

Bushes

In open areas chapters, you can find some large bushes nearby. Stay on top of it to hide from monsters, but be careful, you're not 100% safe when hiding in a bush!

Sounds Of The Monsters

In each zone, there will always be something chasing the player. Regardless of this, the monsters emit sounds depending on their behaviors. Listening to them helped the player to know the longevity of where they are. Sounds can vary depending on their status, some are a warning sign, especially if the noise is frequent, and be wary if the environment is too calm... so it is important to know what each sound means and how to manipulate them for the benefit of the player.

Subpacks

The map has some subpacks in its Textures Pack. Three of them are the panoramas of the three chapters, and the last one is the Christmas textures subpack. If you want to change the map's textures, do the following:

1. Press the edit button on the worlds screen;

2. Select the "Resource packs" tab in the left corner;

3. Locate the Texture Pack and click the 'Settings' button on the right side;

4. Now select the subpack you want.
