Just Backpacks: Enhanced is a full rewrite and evolution of Just Backpacks V3, built from the ground up with a redesigned storage engine, a new complement system, and deeper vanilla integration. Every item you store is safe — across sessions, restarts, and dimensions.
πΎ The Enhanced Engine
Enhanced introduces EBDB — a custom-built item database that replaces the old persistence system entirely:
- While Playing: Items live in a fast-access cache for zero-lag interactions.
- Background Saving: A queue-based system writes data to persistent structures incrementally, never in a single heavy operation.
- On Exit: All remaining data is flushed and saved across the Overworld, Nether, and The End.

The basic Backpack is also available in 16 dyed color variants — simply combine it with any dye.
βοΈ Complement System NEW in Enhanced
Every tier from Copper onwards has dedicated complement slots — passive ability upgrades you install directly into your backpack. The higher the tier, the more complements you can equip simultaneously.

π§ Upgrade Kit System
Every tier is reached by upgrading your existing backpack with a material-specific kit. Your items are always preserved — no crafting from scratch, no lost inventory.
π How to Upgrade — Step by Step
- Craft the Upgrade Kit for your target tier at the Crafting Table.
- Place your current backpack in your offhand slot.
- Hold the Upgrade Kit in your main hand.
- Use / Interact — Right-click on PC · Long-press on mobile.
- Done β — your backpack is upgraded and all your items are still inside.
β Note: Each kit only works on its matching tier. You cannot skip tiers.
π How to Use
- Equip: Hold the backpack in your main hand.
- Open: Interact (Right-click or Long-press) to open the inventory.
- Close: Switch to any other item — the backpack returns to the Void Vault instantly.
- Upgrade: Offhand = backpack · Main hand = Upgrade Kit · then Interact.
- Dye: Combine a basic Backpack with any dye to change its color.
β¨ Features & Compatibility
- π Achievement Friendly: Does NOT use
player.json. Xbox Achievements remain enabled. - π Multi-Dimension Support: Full support for Overworld, Nether, and The End — including safe handling when leaving The End portal.
- β‘ Optimized Performance: The backpack entity rests in the Void Vault (Y: -70) when not in use. Background saving is queue-based to avoid heavy operations.
- π UUID Security: Each backpack has a unique ID tied to its owner. Other players cannot access or upgrade your backpack.
- π Item Lore: Backpacks display their ID, owner, and tier directly in the item tooltip.

Just Backpacks: Enhanced is currently under active development and not yet publicly released. Files at this stage are intended for internal testing only. Screenshots, full documentation, and the complete feature list will be added closer to the official release.
