Countries
You may select from the list of countries available, or consult IDOL8th if you wish to form one from #nation-info. Countries have population caps, depending on their starting size, expansion and city/town development. You can increase your population cap by expanding or building more cities/towns. Nations must preserve their external integrity of operations (Names, flags, etc.)
Cities and Towns
They both follow generally the same rules, they both increase a country’s population cap but at different levels. Cities have defensible (standable/wide) walls made of stone, while towns have small or no walls. Cities are larger than towns, and there can only be one city or town per province. If players expand a town and build a city wall it can become a city. Lastly, if a town/city expands past its provincial borders it is still considered to be a part of its original province. Both towns and cities must be fully within the political borders of their country.
Declaration of War
Forts are military defense structures built on a province for the purpose of retreating into it during a battle. They do not need houses. A fort can built next to (or within) a city/town or can it be in a province by itself. Ports are military structures on coastlines consisting of docks and ships, a port can be by itself of near a city. Ports enable you to build a navy.
Government
IDOLSMP does not have very complex governmental mechanics, governments consist of the leader of a country and they may organize their citizens as they please, as long as they don’t violate rules or mechanics. Countries can also have their own individual discord servers. Leaders/Diplomats may enter diplomatic affairs in the β πβππ’π΅πͺπ°π―-ππ¦π€ππ’π³π’π΅πͺπ°π―π΄… channel. Here players can request alliances and so on.
Provinces/Political
Provinces do not always equal political control. For example if Prussia would like to take just a section of a Polish province, they must first win a war and put into a treaty what land they want. They are not forced to take the entire province of the land they seek, rather they could split off a section of that province for themselves. We also provide an Interactive coordinate Webmap with Markers to find directions.
A war in the IDOLSMP is a conflict between two opposing nations, victory is decided through armies battling in campaign.
Declaration of War
In the β πβππ’π΅πͺπ°π―-ππ¦π€ππ’π³π’π΅πͺπ°π―π΄… channel a country can tag (@) another and declare war on it, a time period for battle must also be agreed on by both countries* participating in the war. *Admins will force a conclusion if no agreement for battle time is reached.
Declaration of War
Armies will be composed of the players available for battle from each country. Allies can also supply troops, refer to the “allies” section for how. Weaponry can be purchased in the store or crafted. Armies may only purchase their country’s uniform which is noted in #nation-info
Declaration of War
In IDOLSMP there is a system of provinces, the map of these can be found in β πΊοΈβππ’π±. An army must move one bordering province at a time unless they have a vassal extending their reach, when an attacking army enters a province the defending nation can choose to either defend it in battle or lose the province. If the attacking army wins this battle or simply takes the province, it can move on to the next, if the attacking army loses, the defenders can choose to go on the offensive.
Battles are encounters between opposing armies. The objective of the battle is to take the enemy camp/fort/city, if an attacking army fails to capture the objective it must retreat to its nearest occupied province, as it is considered to not have taken the province it attacked. Battles must take place within the province being invaded.
