Cozy Campfires - Healing & Rest
i am bringing you something totally different for your survival worlds. Minecraft is always about fighting zombies skeletons and creepers and grinding for hours. Every day you just mine and run and survive. But nobody asks you to stop and just take a break. Where do you go when the night falls and mobs are everywhere? You go to the fire. So I made the RR Cozy Campfires addon. This pack changes the simple campfire into a safe space for healing resting and connecting with friends.
Healing Aura System
So how this works is very simple. You just place any campfire and make sure it is lit. Then you crouch within 3 blocks of it and just stay still. You have to be sneaking otherwise it doesnt work. When you do this your health will slowly start regenerating. It heals half a heart every 2 seconds. I also made it so your hunger is fully restored using saturation while you sit there so you dont die of starvation while resting. You will also see these really cool small heart particles floating around you every few seconds. There is also a very soft warm sound that plays to make the atmosphere completely peaceful. The healing is intentionally slow because it is a moment of rest not a quick fix. Oh and your actionbar will show exactly how long you have been warming.
Soul Campfire Bonus
You can use normal campfires but if you use a Soul Campfire you get a special bonus. Soul campfires deal with spirits so they give you smooth Night Vision for 8 seconds while you are crouched near them. The night vision refreshes as long as you stay there. There is no annoying blinking or flickering at all. This is super helpful if you are deep in a cave and you are low on health. You just place a soul campfire and heal while being able to see everything clearly in the dark without torches. Also you can check your stats anytime by sneaking and using a normal clock item. It acts like a compass and opens a UI menu where you can see your total resting time and achievements.
Brotherhood Buff For Multiplayer
This is probably the best feature if you play on SMPs or realms with your friends. If two or more players crouch near the exact same campfire at the same time a bond starts to form. You both have to stay sneaking for 60 continuous seconds. Your actionbar will show the percentage going up. When it hits 100 percent both of you will receive a powerful Brotherhood Buff. You get Resistance and Haste for 10 full minutes. The whole server gets a chat message saying you forged a bond by the fire and an epic sound plays. It is a really nice reward for just taking a break together. There is a 10 minute cooldown for this so you cant just spam it forever. If anyone stops sneaking or moves away the progress resets immediately so you have to commit to it.
Cozy Vibes And Milestones
While you sit by the fire you will also get random cozy messages appearing on your screen like the flames dance gently or the fire crackles softly. They are very quiet and gray so they dont distract you from relaxing. The addon also tracks your journey forever. The first time you ever warm up you get a welcome message. If you sit for 5 minutes straight it tells you that you feel at home. There is even a special message if you warm up during the night time. All your total time is saved so even if you leave the server the fire remembers your stats. You can unlock achievement titles in the menu if you sit for hours or form a lot of bonds with other players.
Beta APIs Setup
Because all the sneaking detection and the custom menu using the clock item needs background scripts you absolutely have to turn on the Beta APIs experiment in your world. If you dont turn it on none of the healing or buffs will work at all and it will just be a normal boring campfire.
