Bloodthirsty Tools - Cursed Durability
Today i am bringing you a really dark and crazy add-on for your survival worlds. So we all know how tool durability works in minecraft. You are mining deep in a cave finding diamonds and suddenly your iron pickaxe breaks.
Then you realise you dont have any wood to craft a new one so you have to walk all the way back up to your base. It is super annoying right. I wanted to fix this problem but I wanted to do it in a very creepy and cursed way.
So I created the Bloodthirsty Tools addon. In this pack your tools will never break again. Instead they will repair themselves automatically but they demand a very heavy price. They want your blood.
The Warning And The Thirst
So how this works is every tool in the game now has a mind of its own. When you are using a sword or a pickaxe and its durability drops down to 15 uses left, the tool will actually start talking to you in the chat. It will say creepy things like I am getting thirsty master or I can feel your heartbeat. You will also hear weird scary cave sounds playing randomly.
When it drops to 5 durability the tool gets even more desperate and tells you it can almost taste it. It genuinely feels like you are holding a cursed object in your hands that is waiting for you to mess up.
Blood Sacrifice And The UI Menu
When the durability finally hits 0 the tool does not break and disappear like vanilla minecraft. Instead it instantly repairs itself to full durability. But the moment it does that it violently drains 2 full hearts from your health bar. You will hear a loud heartbeat sound and see redstone blood particles flying out of your body. The screen will literally tell you that the tool drank your blood.
But what happens if your health is already very low like 2 hearts or less? Well the tool literally kills you. It drains your soul completely and broadcasts a custom death message to the whole server saying you were consumed by your own pickaxe. Oh by the way I also gave you a Blood Compass item when you first spawn in the world.
If you hold this compass and sneak it opens a UI menu where you can check your stats. It has a Blood Journal that tells you exactly how many times you fed your tools and how many times they killed you. I just put the menu there so you dont have to remember your stats.
Anyway back to the cursed tools, if you get scared and try to drop a thirsty tool on the ground it will literally start growling at you from the floor. It knows you dropped it and it waits for you to pick it back up. It is super terrifying.
Supported Tools And Survival Tips
This curse applies to all the main tools you use in the game. It works on wooden, stone, iron, gold, diamond and netherite versions of pickaxes swords and axes. So there are 18 cursed tools in total.
The game tracks your blood drains forever so if you let the tools drink your blood 50 times the game tells you that the tools own you now and there is no escape. If you want to survive this addon you need to always carry lots of food or golden apples
Make sure your health is always high. A totem of undying will actually save you if the tool tries to kill you so keep one in your offhand. Also a pro tip is to avoid using golden tools because they have very low durability and they will just drink your blood every two minutes and probably kill you very fast.
Beta APIs Setup
this add-on uses background to check the exact durability of the item you are holding and the custom UI compass menu, you absolutely must turn on the Beta APIs experiment in your world settings. If you dont turn it on the tools will just break normally and none of the creepy stuff or menus will work at all so please check your settings.
