Furnace Tiers & Stats

| Furnace Tier | Fuel Consumption | Smelting Speed |
|---|---|---|
| Oak Wood Furnace | 1.0 (Normal) | 1x |
| Copper Furnace | 1.0 | 1.5x |
| Iron Furnace | 1.0 | 2x |
| Netherrack Furnace | 0 | 2x |
| Gold Furnace | 0.8 | 3x |
| Emerald Furnace | 0.6 | 5x |
| Diamond Furnace | 0.4 | 10x |
| Amethyst Furnace | 0.4 | 15x |
| Netherite Furnace | 0.2 | 20x |
| Blazing Furnace | 0.1 | 25x |
| Nether Star Furnace | 0.01 | 10x (1 Stack per Cycle) |
The Netherrack Furnace does not consume fuel.
Wood furnace dissapear after a few seconds/minutes.
⚠ Note: Lower fuel consumption means fuel lasts longer. For example, a furnace with 0.1 fuel consumption gets 10x more smelts per fuel item than a regular furnace.
Upgrade System
Better Smelters introduces an upgrade system that lets you improve your furnace without breaking or replacing it.
Simply interact with the furnace while holding the corresponding upgrade item and it will automatically evolve to the next tier.
Each upgrade enhances the furnace’s speed, efficiency, and fuel usage to match the material used in its construction.

How They Work
Smelters can be used manually, just like regular furnaces — place the input and fuel, then take out the output.
But they also support full automation:
- Input items: Pulled automatically from the container on the left (chest, barrel, or hopper).
- Fuel: Pulled from the container on top.
- Output: Sent to the container on the right, if there's one.

So, just load the left and top containers with items and fuel, and as long as the output container has space, the smelter will handle everything on its own.

Note: Netherite furnace can be crafted using the amethyst furnace and the diamond furnace.
